Majoring in DAAAS has allowed me to explore and expand my understanding of Blackness in its abstraction and diasporic multiplicity. By blurring the lines between theory and practice in my assemblage of artistic and academic practices, I have engaged in true exploration that lives across disciplines and breadths of research in Blackqueer theory, art and aesthetics, media, and sociocultural spatiality. Through DAAAS I found support for my creative voice like no other. Through DAAAS, I learned to trust that knowledge is not a product of an institution but a process of reaching towards oneself and others already within me and everyday folks across the diaspora.
